Desktop Support Lab Technician
Client: Farmers Insurance
Location: Onsite 5x a week – Woodland Hills/CA
Contract type: W2 under staffing supplier
Contract duration:6 months with possible extension
Pay: $25-27/hour

Job Summary
As a Deskside Support Technician, you will provide onsite, deskside technical support and resolutions for challenging issues related to client systems. You’ll use your analytical skills for root cause analysis across applications, hardware, access, connectivity, security, and more. You’ll assist with hardware installations, imaging, and troubleshooting end-user devices, support minor projects, and contribute to technical documentation. All while delivering exceptional customer service that minimizes business disruptions.
What You'll Do
- Provide hands-on deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and conference room technology
- Diagnose, repair, and replace hardware as needed
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, applications, and drivers
- Image and deploy new systems, ensuring compliance with enterprise standards
- Resolve complex technical issues involving applications, hardware, security, databases, mobile devices, and server items in an enterprise environment
- Perform root cause analysis and develop requirements for solutions
- Manage client endpoint security (encryption, antivirus, firewall), endpoint management systems (Intune, NexThink), Active Directory, and VDI
- Assist with wired and wireless network connectivity troubleshooting
- Support conference room AV equipment
- Manage minor projects including testing, deployment, remediation, and develop training/process/procedures documentation
- Maintain accurate asset tracking and inventory for end-user hardware
- Support employee and contractor onboarding
What You'll Bring
- At least 3 years of technical/IT experience in enterprise environments, including deskside support
- Hands-on experience with hardware troubleshooting, imaging tools, and enterprise endpoint management systems
Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent IT certifications/relevant experience
Special Skill Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment as needed
