Our client is seeking a Oracle Database Developer to join their team! This position is located in New York, New York.
Duties:
- Maintain, enhance, and support Oracle database applications used for life insurance financial and valuation reporting
- Design and implement database enhancements for new and existing insurance products
- Support monthly data warehouse loads, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and timeliness
- Develop and maintain automation for financial and actuarial reporting processes
- Build control processes to ensure data quality and reporting integrity
- Produce standard, automated, and ad hoc financial and actuarial reports
- Translate complex business and actuarial requirements into technical specifications and database solutions
- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 production support for Oracle-based financial systems
- Collaborate with Actuarial, Finance, and Technology partners to deliver reliable reporting solutions
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 2 years in database application development or database administration
- 2 years of hands-on Oracle experience, including SQL and PL/SQL
- 2 years of Linux experience, including shell scripting
- 2 years of experience using TOAD
- Strong experience with SQLPlus and SQLLoader
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus to address critical system needs
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with job scheduling tools
- Knowledge of MS Access and/or Python
- Business knowledge of life insurance products
- Prior experience supporting financial or actuarial reporting systems
