Position Details
- Company: GE Vernova
- Location: 1 River Road, Schenectady, NY 12302
- Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST
- Work Environment: 100% Onsite
- Position: Operational Cost Analyst
- Pay: $28 - $30/hr
- Track, analyze, and report logistics costs related to rail, ports, storage facilities, and transit yards.
- Monitor transportation expenses and ensure accurate cost reporting.
- Use Excel and internal systems to maintain financial records, budgets, and cost trackers.
- Review invoices, identify discrepancies, and help resolve billing issues.
- Compare actual expenses against planned project budgets.
- Monitor daily rail, truck, and vessel transportation activities.
- Collaborate with Logistics, Finance, Sourcing, and Operations teams.
- Prepare reports and recommend ways to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Participate in weekly planning meetings and provide operational updates.
- 2 years of experience in Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (required).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Access.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working with financial data, reports, and multiple teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in financial, operational, or data analysis.
- Experience with cost tracking, budgeting, invoice reconciliation, or logistics operations.
- Ability to quickly learn new software and reporting systems.
