Sheeter Operator

Position Summary

Responsible for converting rolls of paper into specific sizes using the correct stock rolls, and double checking for errors. May also relocate merchandise as necessary to ensure efficient operation. Completes appropriate paperwork on product movement. May assist in sheeter maintenance

Monday – Friday, 1:00pm – 9:30pm (overtime and weekend work as required)

Job Description:

• Verifies through QC process that the correct rolls have been pulled and staged
• Prepares rolls by removing packaging in advance of placement on the sheeters, retains roll identification label
• Performs safety checks on equipment. Set up sheeter, including slitters. Check sheet size, width and length.
• Weighs butt rolls and records the weight/s to be returned to inventory. Verify stock identification (SKU#) before returning to inventory. List any damage of rolls on job tickets with weight or estimate of damaged stock.
• Tie off and remove bales from baler. Clean up sheeter, baler and pallet making areas at end of shift. Change sheeter blades. Check on sheeter, reel stands, baler, blower and pallet making and stretch wrap equipment for preventative maintenance.
• Performs equipment check to include safety check prior to operating Sheeters.
• Check fluid levels regularly. Sheeter, baler and compressor.
• Communicates with co-workers, management, customers, and others in a courteous and professional manner.
• Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions relating to the Company, safety, and the law.
• Abides by all safety rules and the proper use of all appropriate safety equipment, which includes but is not limited to proper lifting techniques.
• Periodic maintenance and repairs on converting equipment

Qualifications:

• Experience operating sheeter machine, slitter rewinder, guillotine cutter and or relatable experience with printing presses.
• Must be knowledgeable in the operation of a forklift, hand truck, electric pallet jack.
• Experience with roll clamps, shrink wrap machine and strapping machine
• Safety orientation is required.
• General knowledge of sizing/measuring paper from bulk
• Basic reading and math skills

This position will be subject to the terms and conditions of the Labor Agreement between Kelly Spicers and Teamsters Local 117 which includes medical, dental, vision, life insurance 401 (k) and pension. One week of vacation after one year of service, one hour of sick leave for every 40 hours worked, and 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
