Kelly is currently seeking an experienced TS&D Technician for a long-term opportunity in Auburn, Michigan!
This role will be primarily located at Auburn Operations to provide support to the Electronics Materials group within Consumer Solutions. The TS&D Technician will provide technical support to Lead Scientists and Technologist Leaders in the preparation and execution of experimental activities and studies. The TS&D Tech will also act as primary focal point for technical support of a process, program, product, or application within the work group and occasionally for internal/external clients and customers. The person in this role will also provide technical support for application development and technical service.

PRIMARY Tasks
- Perform several routine and experimental procedures in the lab to develop and improve upon new and existing products. This includes, but is not limited to lab mixer mixing, utilizing presses to cure elastomer slabs, physical property testing, etc.
- Rheology characterization
- Prepare samples and perform testing for Thermal compounds and conformal coatings.
- Interpret and execute customer methods for testing and prepare data for presentation.
- Handle non-hazardous/hazardous chemicals and materials in a proper procedural way.
- Accurately and precisely weigh samples and follow step-by-step procedures to make cured samples and test them.
- Test samples in non-volatile/volatile liquids.
- Down-package materials/samples and ship out materials/samples to customers.
- Take and maintain inventory (lab and office supplies) and purchase needed supplies.
- Assist with testing eyewash & safety shower systems as and when needed.
- Check and keep up with Dow Learning courses (online).
- Coordinate sample shipping for R&D groups at Auburn Operations. Enter RSMP/sample labels/sample shipping.
- Record test results into Electronic Lab Notebook and maintain appropriate documentation.
- An Associate Degree or higher in Chemistry, Biology, or other science related degree or
- Military Degree Equivalency (MDE) and 1 year of relevant work experience or
- Post secondary education with a minimum of 20 hrs. in science related courses relative work experience or
- High school diploma GED and 3 years of relevant work experience.
- A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
- Associate Degree relevant work experience
- Physical Testing experience such as tensile testing, adhesion, durometer specific gravity
- Rheology testing experience.
- Testing Experience with Thermal Compounds.
- Experience using dispense equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Attention to details and working safely in the lab.
- Ability to build strong working relationships with TS&D scientists.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to handle multiple priorities from multiple sources.
- Must be an organized self-starter exhibiting good judgment and the flexibility to adapt to priority changes and demand.
- Must be willing and able to do the following with or without a reasonable accommodation.
- Wear safety equipment, such as goggles and steel-toed shoes
- Wear and use respirators.
- Perform frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Stand or walk for extended periods of time.
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
