Overview
The Client is seeking a Supervisor, Quality Control Laboratory, to support a dynamic and regulated laboratory environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily Quality Control laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and leading laboratory personnel to meet operational and quality objectives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong analytical expertise and a proven background in GMP laboratory environments.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities of the Quality Control laboratory by establishing testing priorities, schedules, and staff assignments.
- Provide daily direction, guidance, and performance feedback to laboratory staff based on work priorities and timelines.
- Ensure appropriate review of analytical results in accordance with the Client’s review policies.
- Conduct employee performance evaluations, compensation reviews, and support new employee recruitment efforts.
- Supervise and perform laboratory investigations, including deviations and OOS/OOT events.
- Maintain laboratory equipment calibration schedules and ensure all required calibrations and maintenance activities are completed in a timely manner.
- Author standard operating procedures (SOPs) and assist with the revision of existing procedures.
- Ensure laboratory compliance with applicable regulatory and quality system requirements.
- Perform and/or assist with procedural, cGMP, and safety training for laboratory staff.
- Act as a communication liaison between the Quality Control laboratory and other departments within the facility.
- Serve as backup support for laboratory management as needed.
- Perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, CE, ICP, FTIR, TOC, and dissolution apparatus, as necessary.
- Assist with preparation and support of internal and external audits and regulatory inspections.
- Perform other related duties as required to support laboratory and business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a GMP analytical chemistry laboratory environment.
- Extensive hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation, including HPLC, GC, CE, ICP, FTIR, TOC, and dissolution apparatus.
- Demonstrated ability to act in a lead or supervisory capacity and provide effective direction to others.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated active listening abilities.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent tasks with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and compliance.
