As a Supervisor I you will have the opportunity to:
- Plan, develop and oversee the implementation of communication strategies to enhance and maintain strong and effective communication channels with the community and those stakeholders affected or interested in the department’s cleanup and mitigation projects, Environmental Justice Advisory Council and other programs associated with the Cleanup in Vulnerable Communities Initiative (CVCI) and other related programs
- Obtain property access agreements from tenants and property owners to plan for public participation, outreach and engagement
- Work with OEE management, technical project management and programs and sub-contractors to establish and complete project activities and to set goals, objectives and timelines
- Establish performance metrics to measure progress and the effectiveness of project assigned activities and efforts
- Seek and identify opportunities for providing, adapting or modifying public outreach and engagement to ensure those affected and interested are allowed to participate early in the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC's) decision making processes and efforts
- Maintain contact with external and internal stakeholders to understand overall needs, concerns, deadlines, and other factors that could impact the planning and conducting of activities, or the evaluation of DTSC's overall approach to communication and public participation and engagement
- Experience in Public Outreach/Engagement
- Experience in facilitation, or teaching experience
- Experience working with Environmental Justice Issues
- Background/experience related to analyzing and doing work according to policy and procedures, time management, proficiency with computer skills, communication, working with the public
- Project management experience
- Strong written and oral communication skills and experience
