Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Quality Assurance / Quality Control Specialist for a manufacturer of specialized radioactive materials for healthcare and industrial applications in Valencia CA. This role is critical in ensuring that the company’s final products are in compliance with the Quality Control and Quality Assurance Programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in document control, incoming receiving inspections, and final product quality inspections utilizing micrometers and calipers. The position is based in Valencia, but candidates must be willing to travel to Burbank 1-2 times per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in maintaining required regulatory systems and compliance
- Conducts filing, organizing, and record keeping of all QC documentation
- Responsible for issuing, processing, closing, and filing of Non-Conformance Reports
- Conduct final QC on all product lines and orders
- Performs incoming receiving inspection as required
- Aids in conducting dimensional QC on components manufactured in-house or by outside vendors using micrometers, calipers, and optical calibrators
- Observes production and verifies procedures are being followed
- Recommends procedure changes where improved techniques will facilitate production
- Maintains the Document Management Program and conducts revision of documents as necessary to maintain the quality of products
- Maintains all activities related to documentation and records control including electronic systems
- Conducts internal and supplier audits under the supervision of a Lead Auditor
- Travel required at various times to Burbank for supplier audits and training
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required
- College degree is preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with Quality Control or Quality Assurance
- One year of experience with documentation control such as filing, organization of paperwork, and inventory logs
- Able to perform Final QC and Receiving Inspection
- Proficient in use of calipers, optical calibrator, and micrometers
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Excellent planning, organization, and flexibility to adjust to a rapidly changing environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Access
- Excellent communication, verbal, and writing skills
- Must be able to travel and work in Valencia and Burbank
- Available to work overtime, typically 3-4 hours per week (up to 4-5 hours during heavy weeks), with flexibility for daily extensions or Saturday work
