What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemist position at Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom?
Kelly Science is seeking a Chemist II to join a growing company located in South Plainfield, NJ. Although a chemistry based role, this position will also assist with basic microbiology tasks occasionally.
Salary: $70,000-80,000/year
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Job Duties Include
- Utilize laboratory instruments (such as HPLC, GC, IR, UV, dissolution, viscosity, and melting point) to perform routine chemical analysis.
- Prepare samples of drugs, cosmetics, supplements, and botanical products for testing.
- Process and organize data from laboratory instruments for review.
- Accurately record all experiments, tests, and results according to FDA cGMP requirements.
- Take part in investigations and corrective actions when issues arise.
- Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on lab instruments.
- Help with developing and validating new test methods as needed.
- Occasionally assist with microbiology tasks like preparing media, handling samples, and environmental monitoring.
- Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biology or a related scientific field
- 3-5 years of industry based laboratory experience
- Experience with HPLC and GC instrumentation REQUIRED
- Previous industry experience utilizing aseptic technique to perform basic microbiology tasks.
