We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to support financial operations and reporting for a growing business. This role is primarily remote, with occasional in-office meetings in Columbus, Ohio as needed. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting knowledge, experience with cost analysis and reporting, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and maintain cost accounting records and financial data
- Monitor expenses, budgets, and cost trends
- Prepare monthly financial and operational reports
- Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
- Review and improve internal accounting processes and controls
- Support month-end and year-end close activities
- Collaborate with leadership on financial reporting and operational insights
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 1 years of accounting or cost accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Experience with ERP systems
- Advanced Excel skills preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage priorities independently in a remote work environment
Preferred (Not Required)
- Manufacturing, operations, or project-based accounting experience
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools
