Our client, a well-established premium beauty and skincare company based in Orange County, California, is seeking an experienced Director of eCommerce to lead their North American direct-to-consumer digital business. This is a unique opportunity to join a restructured eCommerce team and drive strategic growth for a brand with strong market presence and significant expansion potential.
The ideal candidate will be both strategic and tactical, a hands-on eCommerce operator with deep experience in site management, conversion optimization, and operational leadership. You'll have the autonomy to shape the direction of a ~$50M digital business and build your team as the department scales.

As Director of eCommerce, you will own the end-to-end digital customer experience and drive revenue growth across the brand's DTC channels. Reporting to the VP of eCommerce, you'll lead strategy and execution while partnering cross-functionally with Marketing, Creative, Operations, and Product Development teams.
eCommerce Strategy & Operations
- Drive the North American eCommerce strategy aligned with broader business objectives and digital goals
- Manage the DTC digital business to ensure consistent growth in awareness, engagement, and revenue
- Lead initiatives that optimize the customer journey from discovery through conversion and retention
- Oversee merchandising strategy, promotional campaigns, seasonal planning, inventory coordination, content strategy, and performance analytics
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with Finance, Marketing, Product Development, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams
- Manage relationships with third-party agencies, system integration partners, and vendors (developers, subscription platforms, CRO tools, etc.)
Digital Execution & Innovation
- Develop and implement an eCommerce roadmap focused on revenue growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction
- Launch new capabilities with emphasis on loyalty programs, personalization, and engaging content experiences
- Champion exceptional user experience by improving site UX, streamlining customer journeys, and delivering personalized content
- Identify and integrate emerging digital capabilities to drive competitive differentiation and customer engagement
Data & Analytics
- Deliver comprehensive weekly and monthly sales reporting with clearly defined KPIs
- Generate actionable insights using customer surveys, digital analytics, and behavioral data
- Implement testing strategies to improve conversion rates and retention metrics
- Track ROI of digital investments with clear reporting on customer acquisition, growth, engagement, and overall eCommerce performance
Performance Optimization
- Use data-driven testing to identify friction points in the customer journey and prioritize high-impact improvements
- Partner with Finance to develop budget scenarios aligned with sales goals and marketing investment strategies
- Collaborate with Planning teams to optimize inventory assortments, align stock with demand, and ensure product availability
- Provide regular performance updates to senior leadership on DTC business results
Experience & Background:
- Minimum 12 years of experience in eCommerce or digital marketing, with at least 5 years in a management role with direct DTC responsibility
- Proven track record of scaling an eCommerce business and consistently achieving revenue targets
- Background in CPG, premium beauty, or skincare industries strongly preferred
- Demonstrated success managing complex, cross-functional digital initiatives
Technical Expertise:
- Experience with major eCommerce platforms (Shopify, Magento, or similar)
- Proficiency with analytics tools including Google Analytics
- Strong knowledge of CRM/email marketing platforms (Klaviyo or similar)
- Experience with conversion rate optimization (CRO) and A/B testing platforms
- Solid understanding of digital advertising, SEO, and customer retention strategies

Education:

- Experience building and scaling eCommerce teams
- Background working with emerging brands or in entrepreneurial environments
- Familiarity with loyalty program implementation and personalization strategies
- Base Salary: $160,000 - $180,000 (depending on experience)
- Annual Bonus: 15% performance-based bonus
