To perform various welding processes in accordance with a Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), layout, fitting, brazing, and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.
Required Skills And Abilities
- Ability to perform and pass GMAW-Pulse in the 2G and 3G welding positions.
- Ability to perform and pass GMAW-Pulse in the 4G welding position preferred.
- Experience with GMAW-Spray preferred in the 2G welding position.
- Experience with FCAW preferred.
- Must have knowledge of temperature stick usage and preheat techniques.
- Must be able to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Minimum of five years of welding experience.
- Must have attention and care to prevent injury to others when performing work.
- Ability to work in a team environment successfully.
- Must perform tasks safely as instructed orally and in written format.
- Must have knowledge of the metric system.
- Ability to maneuver up to 200 lbs. independently.
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to read measuring taps and calipers.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required; five years of related experience.
- Must become forklift and crane certified through the Pegasus Steel’s internal training.

- Travel required Inter-facility and training purposes as needed.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel regularly.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure is frequent to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles - eye protection is required, and fumes, machine vibration, and noisy conditions, high temperatures, and occasional to a restricted space work area.
