Supply Chain Specialist
Position Summary
The Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for procurement, inventory planning, and supplier management in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role ensures the timely availability of materials required to support production while maintaining optimal inventory levels and cost-effective purchasing practices. The position also supports the procurement of operational supplies and services as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze material requirements and inventory data to determine purchasing needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Create, monitor, and expedite purchase orders to ensure materials are available to meet production schedules and customer demand.
- Identify and resolve material shortages by working closely with internal departments and external suppliers.
- Coordinate with vendors to manage lead times, improve delivery performance, and minimize supply chain disruptions.
- Monitor inventory levels and purchasing activities using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records, including item and supplier information.
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and service, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Research and obtain competitive pricing while ensuring continuity of supply.
- Investigate and resolve purchasing, receiving, and invoice discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production, operations, and continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and established procurement procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and supplier relationship management abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
Salary : $95,000 - $120,000
