Who are we hiring?
Once in a lifetime opportunity! Kansas City Current Sports Turf & Grounds team is seeking individuals to assist with playing surface maintenance during FIFA World Cup 2026 Base Camp at The University of Kansas Health System Training Center (June 6 – July 5) and / or CPKC Stadium (July 6 – July 13).
- AM Shift: 4am – 9am
- PM Shift: 1pm – 6pm
What will you do?
- Assist with daily pitch preparation and / or maintenance work for Dutch National Team KC Current 1st & 2nd team
- The tasks you will assist with could include but not limited to:
- Pedestrian mowing
- Line painting
- Playing Surface Testing
- Moving sponsor boards
- Hand watering
- Irrigation maintenance
- Other general Grounds / maintenance tasks as assigned
- Work as a Team with full-time & part-time Sports Turf & Grounds staff, along with staff across the entire organization
- Perform other duties as assigned to support KC Current’s mission to become the best soccer club – with the very best playing surfaces – anywhere in the world
What do you need to succeed?
- Required: Previous experience operating Sports Turf & / or Golf Course equipment
- Required: Endorsement / Reference from existing employer
- Required: Ability to work as part of a team, as most all Sports Turf & Grounds work that takes place is a team effort
- Required: Attend Orientation at 1pm, June 6 and/or 4am, June 7
Special requirements of the Job:
- Ability to work in various degrees of outdoor weather conditions, including but not limited to, extreme heat, cold, and/or rain
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
- Ability to work in various positions, including but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time
