Publicly-traded life sciences company is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to add to their growing team. This position will report into the Corporate Controller and play a key role in overseeing the monthly close process, SOX controls, consolidations, business partnering, and management.

- Review journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the monthly and quarterly close
- Oversee reconciliation and analysis of complex accounting areas
- Perform and review variance analyses, providing actionable insights to stakeholders
- Coordinate with external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables
- Prepare materials for senior leadership and audit committee reporting
- Identify opportunities and drive process improvements across the finance function
- Lead and support initiatives to enhance financial operations, including efforts to streamline and accelerate the financial close process
- Own the accounting workstream for cross-functional projects and strategic company initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally to design and implement scalable processes and internal controls
- Support the rollout and maintenance of operational procedures tied to new business initiatives
- Contribute to ad hoc and ongoing finance transformation projects
- Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of accounting professionals
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, accountability, and career growth
- Maintain and enhance internal controls over financial reporting (including SOX compliance, where applicable)
- Ensure proper assignment and execution of control activities within the accounting team
- Partner with business stakeholders and FP&A to understand transactions and ensure appropriate accounting treatment, including accurate revenue recognition
- Collaborate with regional and functional leadership teams to support accurate and timely financial reporting
- Support special projects and other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
- CPA is a plus, but not required
- 7 years of accounting experience
- Experience working within a publicly-traded company
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills
