The Payroll Specialist will report to the Payroll Manager, and assist with timely payroll processing, respond to employee inquiries and resolve discrepancies. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Payroll Manager, and assist with timely payroll processing, respond to employee inquiries and resolve discrepancies. The Payroll Specialist will perform the following:
- Review and process weekly timesheets submitted through the automated time tracking system
- Compile and submit tax documentation to the third-party provider for statutory reporting requirements
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation and distribution
- Keep payroll-related employee records up to date, with a focus on employer contributions
- Perform manual payroll verification processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Assist with the preparation and processing of year-end forms, including 1099s and W-2s
- Handle payroll-related tasks for employee lifecycle events, including PTO tracking, onboarding of new hires, and processing terminations
- Support payroll operations across multiple states, ensuring adherence to varying state regulations
- Apply knowledge of federal and multi-state tax regulations to maintain compliance and accuracy
- Assist with posting payroll entries to the general ledger and support reconciliation efforts as needed
