Global Controller

A growing publicly traded organization is seeking a hands-on and strategic Corporate Controller to lead global accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. This highly visible leadership role will oversee the close process, strengthen internal controls, optimize financial systems, and support the continued scalability of the finance organization.

The ideal candidate will be results-oriented, collaborative, and highly organized, with strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to partner cross-functionally across a global organization. This individual should possess a continuous improvement mindset and a strong ability to drive operational excellence through process, systems, and team development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Oversee core accounting functions including revenue recognition, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, travel & expense, and accounts payable
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP, including ASC 606 and broader accounting policy requirements
• Partner with operational teams to ensure accurate inventory, expense accruals, and financial reporting
• Maintain and enhance global accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Collaborate with technical accounting teams on complex accounting matters and implementation of accounting policies
• Lead external audit activities, quarterly reviews, and internal controls testing
• Ensure internal controls over financial reporting are properly designed and operating effectively
• Serve as business owner for financial systems and partner with IT leadership on ERP and financial systems enhancements
• Identify and implement automation and process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and scalability
• Partner closely with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, HR, and international finance teams to support reporting, forecasting, and operational alignment
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes
• Oversee treasury-related activities including cash management, banking relationships, and insurance/risk management
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while supporting succession planning and organizational growth
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA required
• 15 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls
• Public company experience strongly preferred
• Industry experience within life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, or other complex operating environments preferred
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience with ERP systems and financial system implementations or upgrades preferred
• Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Demonstrated success driving process improvements, automation, and operational scalability
• Strong leadership capabilities with a hands-on, solutions-oriented approach

Hybrid: 3 days/week in office

Compensation: $275,000 - $325,000 base plus bonus and equity
