Reporting to the CEO, you'll stabilize processes, lead month-end close, manage AP/AR/payroll, and prepare for a smooth ERP transition in a collaborative, low-drama environment.

Salary: $150,000 (DOE) discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits.

Location: Fully onsite in Providence, RI (local candidates only, 5 days/week, 8 AM–4 PM).

What You’ll Do

• Own full-cycle accounting: AP, AR, payroll, GL, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close.
• Prepare accurate financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) for leadership and ownership.
• Manage multi-state tax filings, business registrations, and compliance requirements.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, sweep accounts, and line-of-credit utilization.
• Maintain WIP reports, job costing, and project close-out financial analysis.
• Coordinate external CPA relationships, annual audits, tax returns, and bonding capacity.
• Develop executive dashboards, KPI reporting, and variance analysis.
• Automate workflows and strengthen internal controls using QuickBooks Online.
• Calculate and process bonuses, commissions, and expense policy compliance.
• Partner with leadership on strategic planning, funding, and growth initiatives.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 5–8 years in progressive accounting; small company or manufacturing background ideal.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Technical Skills: Expert-level QuickBooks Online required; advanced Excel (VBA/macros a plus); Paylocity/Emburse a plus.
• Knowledge: Strong GAAP, financial reporting, payroll, and tax compliance; project accounting/WIP a plus.
• Skills: Analytical, proactive, and excellent communicator with leadership potential.
• Mindset: Hands-on, autonomous, and thrives in a growing, collaborative environment.
• Bonus: Funding experience, external CPA management, or manufacturing industry exposure.
