The Controller will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, month-end close, and the annual budgeting process. This position offers a hybrid schedule after training, but candidates must be local to the Concord, NH area to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a small accounting team, fostering growth and accountability
- Establish, enhance, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
- Oversee the preparation and execution of the annual budget process
- Review account reconciliations, AP/AR activity, payroll, journal entries, and financial reporting for accuracy and completeness
- Take ownership of the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial results
- Partner with external auditors and coordinate audit-related requests and deliverables
- Attend board meetings and provide financial insight and reporting support as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3 years of experience in an accounting leadership or management role
- Strong Excel skills, including experience with PivotTables, IF formulas, SUM, INDEX/MATCH, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and other advanced functions
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and present financial information clearly
