Overview
We are seeking an Environmental Compliance Engineer to support environmental programs and ensure regulatory compliance across manufacturing operations. This position will play a key role in evaluating environmental impacts, securing permits, and assisting sites in meeting environmental requirements and corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess environmental implications related to facility modifications, process changes, and new projects.
- Provide guidance on environmental regulations and compliance requirements.
- Develop permitting strategies to support operational and capital projects.
- Prepare, submit, and track environmental permit applications and approvals.
- Assist manufacturing sites with environmental management and compliance initiatives.
- Support implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems and reporting processes.
- Work closely with operations, engineering, and site teams to ensure compliance with applicable environmental regulations.
- Monitor changing environmental regulations and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental compliance, environmental engineering, permitting, or regulatory affairs.
- Understanding of environmental regulations related to industrial or manufacturing operations.
- Experience supporting environmental audits, permits, and compliance programs.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting automotive or manufacturing facilities.
- Knowledge of California environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
- Familiarity with air quality, wastewater, hazardous waste, and environmental reporting programs.
Ideal Background
Candidates from manufacturing plants, automotive facilities, environmental consulting firms, chemical plants, energy companies, or industrial operations with hands-on environmental compliance and permitting experience will be highly preferred.
Salary : $40 - $52
