Who We’re Looking For
We are currently seeking an experienced Automotive Exterior Designer specializing in production model design for our Production Design Studio located in Ann Arbor, Michigan
What You’ll Be Doing
- Originating and developing ideas for mainly near production and/or production design for mobility products by performing the following duties as a member of a project team:
- Producing automotive exterior sketches, renderings and full scale illustrations for mainly production models;
- Participating in mobility design development or adaptation and oversees projects as assigned;
- Creating design/styling ideas based on factors such as human factors, aesthetics, materials, engineering, packaging, application, methods or production, cost, market characteristics, and appropriateness based on objectives of project;
- Preparing design data for model-making and engineering;
- Working with modelers to develop scale and full-sized 3D models and provide guidance and direction;
- Conducting research to support development of project concepts;
- Integrating findings and concepts into two and three dimensional sketches and models.
- Present design proposals to leadership and stakeholders.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s in Transportation Design, or a similar discipline.
- 3 years’ automotive production model design experience.
- Demonstrated skill in verbal and visual communication, analytic skills, attention to detail, planning and organizing and collaboration.
- Compelling portfolio showcasing creativity, artistry, technical skills and design process.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Alias, Blender, or similar. Proficiency in Vred desired.
