About the Role

KayDev Technology is looking for an experienced Data Engineer for a 30-month engagement with the New York State Department of Financial Services in New York, NY. You’ll support data warehousing, data profiling, governance, and data quality for financial reporting. You’ll work with data cataloging platforms, build dashboards, automate data tasks, and partner with data vendors, internal stakeholders, and technology teams to support the agency’s data strategy.

Required Qualifications

• 84 months of experience in data warehousing, data profiling, governance, modeling, or data quality assurance for financial reporting.
• 84 months of experience in SQL, Oracle, and other database management systems, including querying, with examples of independently solving problems and supporting internal data stakeholders to resolve data issues in real time.
• 84 months of experience with data visualization and dashboarding using tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, or Power BI.
• 84 months of experience automating data tasks such as ingestion, mapping, reporting, testing, validation, and analysis, using programming languages such as SAS, Python, R, or Excel VBA.
• 84 months of experience providing governance and technical support: working with data vendors and solution providers, internal stakeholders, and other technology teams (Data Architecture, Project Management) to support data strategy and initiatives, and translating business requirements into technical specifications.
• 84 months of experience with data cataloging platforms (e.g., Informatica, Collibra, Alation) to perform data profiling, data quality, and data mapping, and to manage lineage.
• 84 months of experience writing documentation to capture requirements and logic, and encouraging adoption of data catalog, data quality, data management processes, and other data initiatives (e.g., data platform and integration solutions).
• 36 months of experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake or Azure.
• Bachelor’s degree.
