Hardware Technician

Position Overview:

The Systems Build Technician will execute system integration projects, including assembling hardware, creating technical drawings, labeling, cabling, performing diagnostics, and preparing systems for shipment. This role requires strong technical skills, organization, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design & Documentation: Review source drawings, verify accuracy, and produce cabinet drawings and Functional System Diagrams (FSD).
• Hardware Receipt & Installation: Receive, label, and rack hardware. Prepare cabinets, install servers, KVMs, PDUs, and other equipment.
• Labeling & Identification: Create and affix labels for cabinets, PDUs, devices, and locations per specifications.
• Cable Management & Power Installation: Plan and route power schemes. Install and label cables following best practices.
• Diagnostics & Updates: Perform firmware updates, diagnostics, and record serial numbers and MAC IDs.
• Data Management: Enter and configure system details in MySystem database.
• Quality Control: Verify device labeling, cabling, and functionality.
• Staging & Test Floor Support: Arrange cabinets, cabling, and power connections on the test floor.
• Waste & Recycling: Follow e-cycle, recycling, and landfill disposal procedures.
• Shipping Prep: Remove temporary cabling, secure hardware, and perform final quality checks.

Qualifications:

• Experience in hardware assembly, rack and stack, or system integration.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 standards and cable management best practices.
• Proficiency with labeling tools and IT equipment.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment.

Education & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
• 2 years in system build or related fields.
