This role supports Systems Engineering and Intelligence efforts within a secure, high-performance environment.
This position is based onsite in Manassas, VA and follows a standard 9/80 or 4/10 work schedule.

Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Kubernetes Architect to support a mission-critical defense program focused on submarine command, control, communications, computers, cyber-defense, and intelligence (C5I). This role supports Systems Engineering and Intelligence efforts within a secure, high-performance environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and manage Kubernetes-based infrastructure in a Linux environment
- Develop Kubernetes controllers and operators to support system automation
- Architect and implement microservices-based solutions
- Support Kubernetes cloud architecture design and deployment
- Engineer and optimize Container Network Interfaces (CNI) across Kubernetes environments
- Evaluate network performance, scalability, and cybersecurity posture
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams during system integration and testing phases
- Active DoD Secret Clearance (must be maintained)
- U.S. Citizenship (required for clearance eligibility)
- Strong experience with Kubernetes architecture and containerized environments
- Proficiency in Linux-based development environments
- Experience developing software and/or automation within Kubernetes ecosystems
- Experience with software design and development best practices
- Background in software testing (unit, qualification, etc.)
- Experience supporting Integration & Test (I&T) phases (system and subsystem levels)
- Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects, including:
- Bug fixes
- Long-term system support and maintenance
- Experience tracking and improving software quality, including static code analysis
- Familiarity with microservices architecture and distributed systems
