This is an exciting opportunity to play an integral role in achieving the company’s goals. Qualified candidates will bring a strong knowledge of Software testing, product documentation and customer support.

  • Located in Barra da Tijuca, Brazil
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., (occasional night/weekend hours to support global operations)

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Be the guardian of quality that powers innovation. As a Software Quality Assurance Technician, you’ll play a pivotal role in safeguarding the reliability and performance of Katalyst’s software ecosystem. Armed with proven QA methodologies, you’ll rigorously test and validate internal systems to uphold our uncompromising standards. Working hand‑in‑hand with developers and database administrators, you’ll troubleshoot issues, squash bugs, and deliver responsive support to both internal teams and external clients. Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conduct both manual and automated testing of application builds to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and developers to design and implement test cases aligned with application specifications.
  • Support the creation of design documentation, manage configuration settings, and assist with software deployment processes.
  • Identify, log, and track software defects, working closely with developers and DBAs to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide responsive support to internal and external end users, addressing technical issues and inquiries.
  • Reproduce and document user-reported issues to aid developers in diagnosing and resolving problems effectively.
  • Create clear, user-friendly documentation to guide and support end users.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.

Skills Required:

  • Solid experience in software quality assurance methodologies, processes, and tools.
  • Proficient in using automated testing tools and developing both manual and automated test scripts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Familiarity with databases, data models, and basic SQL for validation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization skills in dynamic environments.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Highly adaptable and quick to master new software and technologies, thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Preferred: Experience with non-forms application testing (like maps, visualization tools etc.) 
  • Experience with JSON and API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Preferred: Background in the Oil and Gas Exploration domain.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with automated testing frameworks like Selenium 
  • English – Intermediate level – capacity to keep oral conversation with native speakers.

Required Education and Experience  

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in software testing or quality assurance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Knowledge or experience in Oil and Gas Exploration highly valued
  • Knowledge of PPDM data model highly valued

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position. As a full-time position, the Software Quality Assurance Technician is eligible to participate in benefits coverage offered to Katalyst employees based on geographical location.

Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional night and weekend hours are expected in support of our global operations.

Travel: 

Occasional local travel may be necessary, however, most of the work can be performed from local Katalyst office. If participation in an offsite meeting is requested, all related travel expenses will be covered or reimbursed, in accordance with the company’s policies and local regulations.
