Workday Automation Test Lead
Location: Frisco, TX (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)
Experience: 10 yrs
Required Experience
8 years of experience in Automation Testing.
3 years of experience in Workday Testing.
2 years of experience in Automation Test Architecture.
1 year of experience working with Workday Sandbox/Preview environments.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Workday functional and automation testing.
- Hands-on experience with Workday tenants including Sandbox and Preview environments.
- Expertise in creating test strategies, test plans, test cases, and executing Functional, Integration, Regression, and UAT testing.
- Experience testing one or more Workday modules including HCM, Payroll, Financials (FINS), Benefits, Absence, Time Tracking, Compensation, or Recruiting.
- Strong understanding of Workday business processes, worklets, navigation, security domains, condition rules, calculated fields, and advanced reporting.
- Experience validating EIB and Core Connector inbound/outbound integrations, data loads, and data transformations.
- Hands-on experience with Workday automation tools and automation framework design.
- Experience planning and executing Workday feature release validation and maintaining regression test suites.
- Strong experience in defect management, root cause analysis, test reporting, and quality assurance best practices.
- Ability to estimate testing efforts, identify risks, prepare mitigation plans, and manage testing schedules.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, business stakeholders, and development teams throughout the software testing lifecycle.
Good to Have
- Experience testing Workday Payroll.
- Experience testing Workday Financials (FINS).
- Knowledge of continuous testing and CI/CD practices.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Lead Workday automation testing initiatives across multiple Workday modules.
- Develop comprehensive test strategies and testing plans based on business requirements.
- Design, develop, and execute automated and manual test cases for functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Validate Workday business processes, security configurations, calculated fields, reports, and integrations.
- Coordinate test data preparation and environment management.
- Execute regression testing for Workday feature releases and enhancements.
- Identify, log, track, and resolve defects while performing root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure complete test coverage.
- Monitor testing progress, communicate project status, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality releases.
- Provide technical leadership in automation framework design and testing best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and lead testing activities across multiple workstreams.
