Material Handler Job Summary:
Bedrock is seeking a Material Handler to operate powered industrial vehicles and manage the movement of materials across manufacturing, storage, and worksite locations. This position plays a vital role in supporting production flow and ensuring that components and products are safely and efficiently transported and stored.
Material Handler Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from pallets, racks, shelves, and vehicles
- Safely secure loads using straps, bracing, or padding to prevent damage
- Transport materials using forklifts or similar equipment to designated areas
- Maintain organized and properly located inventory
- Assist with identifying parts such as grill guards, bumpers, and headache racks
- Learn and utilize part number identification
- All other duties as assigned by management
Material Handler Skills and Competencies:
- Safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other industrial vehicles
- Knowledge of component parts used in manufacturing
- Ability to work within a team and follow direction
- Strong organization and attention to detail
Material Handler Qualifications:
- Ability to operate or be trained to operate forklifts and other machinery
- Team-oriented mindset
- Forklift certification required or obtainable
Work Environment:
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, in conditions including loud noise, extreme temperatures, and exposure to dust, fumes, or humidity. PPE is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Operate forklifts up to 10 hours daily (67%-100%)
- Stand and walk for extended periods
- Frequent climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
- Repetitive use of hands, wrists, shoulders, and feet
- Lift 40 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs with assistance occasionally
- Carry 40 lbs for distances up to 60 feet
