Assistant Product Manager Job Summary
The Assistant Product Manager supports the lifecycle management of physical leather and tack products — including saddles, bits, pads, and related equine products — from concept through production and launch.
This is a hands-on position in a manufacturing environment, working closely with production teams and materials on the shop floor. This role is focused on tangible product development and manufacturing execution and is not related to software, IT systems, or digital product management.
Assistant Product Manager Responsibilities
Support product development and roadmap execution for leather and tack products
Collaborate directly with manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and consistency
Participate in product builds, revisions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Coordinate cross-functional meetings between product development, production, and leadership
Track timelines and deliverables from concept through production
Evaluate physical product samples and assist in product testing
Monitor post-launch product performance and customer feedback
Spend time on the production floor supporting hands-on product execution
All other duties as assigned by management
Assistant Product Manager Qualifications
2 years of product, project management, or manufacturing experience
Manufacturing or hands-on production environment experience strongly preferred
Experience with leather goods, tack, equine products, or related industries is a plus
Strong organizational and communication skills
Comfortable working in a production environment and collaborating with shop-floor teams
Ability to lift and handle product samples as needed
