What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saddle and Tack Specialist/ Sales Associate position at Hilason Saddles?
Ride with the Best: Saddle & Tack Specialist Wanted!
Are you the person your friends call when they need to know if a saddle fits or which bit is best for a green horse? Do you live and breathe the equestrian lifestyle? If you have a passion for horses and a knack for high-end gear, we want you in our showroom!
We are looking for an energetic, knowledgeable Sales Associate & Product Specialist to join our team. This isn't just a "retail job"—it’s a role for a true horse person who can talk shop, solve fit issues, and ensure every horse and rider leaves our showroom ready for the arena.
What You’ll Be Doing
In the Showroom (Public Hours):
- Be the Expert: Provide top-tier advice on saddle fit, leather quality, and tack selection.
- Close the Sale: Use your horse sense to make confident recommendations that meet the specific needs of our riders.
- Educate: Help customers understand the "why" behind the gear, from tree width to cinch pressure.
Behind the Scenes (Warehouse & Ops):
- Gear Prep: Assist the manager in keeping the showroom floor looking pristine and professional.
- Logistics: Manage order fulfillment, carefully pack high-value tack, and handle shipping to get gear to our customers nationwide.
- Tech Mastery: Use our warehouse management and shipping software to keep the business galloping along smoothly.
What We’re Looking For
- Deep Horse Knowledge: You must know your way around a horse and a tack room. If you can’t tell a latigo from a lariat, this probably isn't the fit for you.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish fluency is highly preferred to better serve our diverse community of riders.
- Tech Savvy: You don’t need to be a programmer, but you should be comfortable learning new computer programs for inventory and shipping.
- Work Ethic: You’re a self-starter who is just as happy helping a customer as you are organizing a shipment of headstalls.
The Details
- Schedule: Part-time/Full-time (Showroom hours administrative/warehouse hours).
- Environment: A fast-paced, high-energy equestrian hub.
- Perks: Work around the gear you love and help grow a premier tack brand.
