Duties and Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing drawings, plans, specifications, and other engineering documentation. *
- Support Engineers in developing project designs by attending pre-construction meetings, reviewing plans, performing engineering calculations, conducting site visits, surveying, staking and other necessary tasks. *
- Collaborate with Engineers to develop protection and control drawings, such as: one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, DC control schematics, cable schedules, and wiring diagrams. *
- Collaborate with Engineers to develop water main relocations, extensions, and utility plans. *
- Conduct site visits, interact with customers, and coordinate with field personnel during construction projects. *
- Operate GPS equipment to map BPU’s assets and assist in updating and correcting drawings, maps, and records. *
- Perform other similar related duties as assigned. *

Education/Experience:
- High School Graduate
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering:
- Electrical and Computer Engineering – emphasis in Power Systems
- Civil Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Chemical Engineering
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and proficiency in technical writing.
- Familiarity with engineering software including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work in both office settings and perform fieldwork in a variety of outdoor environments and locations.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license for operating vehicles.
