Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Trailer Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The Trailer Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a fleet of trailers to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and operationally ready. This role focuses on mechanical, electrical, and brake systems, preventive maintenance, and accurate documentation of all work performed to minimize downtime and support efficient logistics operations. This is a shop‑based role with occasional mobile service calls to customer locations. The fleet type is focused on dry van, flatbed, and utility trailers supporting pallet and logistics operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair trailer bodies, suspensions, braking systems, and related components.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on trailers to reduce breakdowns and ensure DOT compliance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including lights, wiring, connectors, and ABS where applicable.
- Service and replace wear items such as hubs, axles, tires, and brake components.
- Repair and adjust doors, flooring, landing gear, and structural components as needed.
- Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Document all inspections, repairs, parts used, and labor times in maintenance systems or work orders.
- Communicate repair needs, priorities, and timelines with supervisors, dispatch, and operations teams.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area and comply with all safety procedures.
- Stay current on new tools, repair methods, and safety regulations related to trailer maintenance.

Qualifications/Skills:
- Willingness to work full‑time, Monday–Friday, with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in diesel/heavy equipment or automotive repair preferred.
- Proven experience as a Trailer Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, or similar heavy equipment role.
- Strong knowledge of trailer systems, including brakes, suspensions, axles, and electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and in some cases hydraulic issues.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- CDL is a plus.
- Operate a yard truck/switcher to safely move trailers within the yard as needed to support maintenance and operations
- Ability to lift and move heavy components and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong attention to detail, problem‑solving skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Company truck and tools will be provided to support you in your role.
