About the Role
Marina Plastic Surgery is seeking a professional and experienced Operating Room RN Manager to lead our surgical team in a busy, multi-surgeon, high-volume environment. The OR Manager is responsible for ensuring patient health and safety by overseeing the day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the surgical care area. This role involves managing and developing staff, collaborating with surgeons and multidisciplinary professionals, overseeing OR expenditures, and supporting patients and caregivers through every step of their surgical journey.
The ideal candidate is an experienced surgical nurse with strong leadership skills, the ability to multi-task and troubleshoot under pressure, and the expertise to balance hands-on patient care with operational, financial, and administrative oversight.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and support OR staff through recruitment, training, scheduling, performance management, and professional development.
· Collaborate with physicians, practice management, and nursing leadership to deliver safe, high-quality surgical care.
· Partner with the Surgery Scheduler to ensure cases are booked appropriately and efficiently.
· Schedule staff according to OR bookings and center needs while monitoring payroll for efficiency.
· Closely monitor surgical times compared to scheduled case lengths and billed charges to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
· Oversee OR expenditures, surgical supply usage, and identify cost-effective alternatives to maintain budget control.
· Oversee supply management, equipment maintenance, narcotic control, and emergency readiness.
· Ensure accurate and timely documentation of logs, records, and regulatory requirements.
· Participate in direct patient care, including circulating in the OR and PACU, patient education, pre-op and post-op assessments, wound care, and recovery follow-up.
· Review upcoming surgical charts to confirm labs, clearances, and orders are complete.
· Maintain compliance with accreditation standards, OSHA regulations, and state requirements.
· Coordinate governing body meetings, incident reports, infection control tracking, and quality improvement initiatives.
· Lead safety drills and maintain clinical policies to uphold the highest standards of patient safety.
