The Opportunity

We're looking for a machinist who can do more than simply run a machine. We need someone who can independently perform complex setups, troubleshoot machining and quality issues, read through CNC programs, and recognize potential problems before they happen. If you take pride in dialing in a process, optimizing cycle times, and producing quality parts from the first run, you'll thrive in this role.

You'll be producing precision components for the medical device and aerospace industries while working in one of the largest precision machining operations in the region. This is an opportunity to join a growing team where your machining knowledge, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail will have a direct impact on quality, productivity, and customer success.

The facility continues to experience significant growth, with projections nearing 30% growth in 2026 and another 30% in 2027, creating outstanding opportunities for advancement.

What You'll Work On

Most work is performed on:

  • 3-Axis Vertical Machining Centers
  • Horizontal Machining Centers

Depending on production needs, you may also work with:

  • 4th Axis Milling Equipment
  • CNC Lathes

Equipment includes:

  • Johnford
  • Kitamura
  • Doosan
  • Haas

Materials commonly machined include:

  • Aluminum castings
  • Engineering plastics
  • Carbon steels (1018, 1215, 1144)
  • Stainless steels (303, 304, 316, 17-4PH, 440C)

As the facility expands its aerospace customer base, opportunities may exist to machine exotic materials such as:

  • Inconel
  • Hastelloy

What You'll Be Doing

Setup, Troubleshooting & Process Ownership

  • Perform complete machine setups and changeovers
  • Make tooling, offset, and process adjustments
  • Troubleshoot machining and quality issues
  • Read and evaluate CNC programs to identify potential concerns before production begins
  • Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and improve cycle times
  • Take ownership of machine performance, quality, and productivity

CNC Machining & Production

  • Set up and operate CNC machining centers producing precision medical and aerospace components
  • Monitor machine performance and part quality throughout production
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain efficient production while meeting customer quality standards

Quality & Inspection

  • Read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring equipment
  • Verify dimensions and tolerances
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications

What We're Looking For

  • 5 years of CNC machining experience
  • Strong setup and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to independently perform complex setups
  • Experience reviewing CNC programs and identifying potential machining issues
  • Strong understanding of tooling, process optimization, feeds, speeds, and quality control
  • Experience machining tight-tolerance, high-value components
  • Excellent blueprint reading and inspection skills
  • Strong problem-solving ability with minimal supervision

Preferred Experience

  • Aerospace or medical device manufacturing
  • Horizontal machining centers
  • 4th Axis machining
  • Complex castings and high-value components
  • Exotic materials including Inconel or Hastelloy

Why This Role Stands Out

  • One of the largest precision machining operations in the region
  • Produces critical components for the medical device and aerospace industries

  • Saturday overtime is regularly available based on production needs
  • Overtime is completely voluntary

Compensation & Benefits

  • $36.00–$43.00/hour
  • Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance beginning the 1st of the month following hire
  • 8 paid holidays plus 3 floating holidays
  • PTO begins at 2 weeks annually
  • Overtime hours count toward PTO accrual, allowing many employees to earn up to 3 weeks of PTO during their first year
  • 401(k) with company match
