Essential Job Functions
- Ensures Student Financial Services Representatives are adequately trained and the department is appropriately staffed to provide customer service.
- Acts as first escalation point for students working with Student Financial Services Department.
- Maintains documentation regarding front-line resources and documentation on procedures.
- Provides front-line support for the financial aid offices including walk-ins, phone calls and emails, answers questions as able and schedules appointments for financial aid advisors and other staff.
- Assists financial aid applicants with the financial aid application process and veterans with veteran benefit applications.
- Notifies student financial aid applicants of information needed to complete financial aid files.
- Assists financial aid recipients with program requirements and processes VA benefit paperwork.
- Enters data into assigned computer system and prepares standard forms, letters, mailing lists, brochures/materials for publications and other documents.
- Monitors work study students.
- Utilizes complex computer programs for reporting, tracking and monitoring student records.
- Manages and orders office supplies, student forms and handouts.
- Recommends process improvements to Student Financial Service policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Knowledge of financial aid forms, rules, procedures and guidelines.
- Skill in providing information and assistance to customers.
- Skill in maintaining records.
- Skill in cash management.
- Skill in directing the work of others.
- Skill in customer service and de-escalation.
- Skill in the use of computers and software applications related to the essential functions of the job.
