GENERAL SUMMARY
The purpose of this job is to provide front desk support to customers including answering phone calls, emails and inquiries regarding animal related problems and legal issues. Document citizen complaints and quarantines, facilitate sale of dog licenses, and process animal surrenders and adoptions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide customer service to individuals visiting the shelter. Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and mail; documenting citizen complaints and answering animal related inquires.
- Facilitate sale of annual dog licenses, including reviewing documentation to ensure requirements are met and vaccinations are up to date.
- Document quarantines for animal bites and bat/wildlife exposures in order to initiate officer contact and follow-up, including receiving specimens and preparing rabies testing documents if testing is necessary.
- Process animals that are stray, owner surrender, owner requested euthanasia and sick or injured wildlife.
- Process animal adoptions, redemptions, or adoption in lieu of redemption of animals at the shelter. Obtain necessary signatures and provide information regarding health risks, medical treatment provided, and future requirements needed.
- Prepare FOIA requests, citations, court packets, lost and found reports, and educational documents as needed.
- Perform related work as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma (or GED equivalent)
- At least 1 to 3 years of related work experience in customer service or cashiering
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities

Train Wk- 40 hrs; Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - p.m.
Saturday, Tuesday-Friday 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
