What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Care Assistant (RCA)-Overnight position at Kahala Nui?
Kāhala Nui, considered Hawaiʻi’s premier senior living community, is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Overnight Resident Care Assistant (RCA) to join our team.
POSITIONS SUMMARY: Assist residents with their ADLs to ensure that they are receiving person-centered care and service. Follows the direction of the licensed nurse, Director of AL/MS, ADON and/or DON. Works with residents living in Assisted Living (AL) and Memory Support (MS) as assigned and on a rotating basis. May be assigned to work on the Nursing Unit if certified as a CNA.
Note: This position does NOT require a Hawaii CNA license and does NOT provide relocation assistance.
Evening and Night shifts receive a shift differential pay.
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
- Overnight Shift: 10:00PM - 6:30AM
- Must have flexible availability to work day and evening shifts as needed.
- Must be available Sunday through Saturday, including weekends and holidays.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with residents and families.
- Ability to follow care plans, policies and safety procedures.
- Ability to lift, transfer, and assist residents safely, including standing, bending and prolonged walking or standing.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Proof of annual tuberculosis clearance in accordance with state regulations.
- Proof of valid CPR AED and First Aid certification.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 100 hours of nurse's aide training or Certified Nurse's Assistant certificate preferred.
- Previous experience in caregiving, resident care, assisted living, healthcare, or a related field.
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or memory care residents.
