About the Job
The Shift Lead at Heads or Tails is responsible for guiding the team during a specific shift, ensuring service, safety, and quality standards are maintained. This position serves as the point of contact for team questions and issues when management is not on-site and ensures that operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Direct team members in completing tasks and assignments during the shift
- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and customer service standards are upheld
- Communicate shift needs and updates to the team clearly and effectively
- Handle minor customer service concerns and escalate when appropriate
- Assistwith cash handling and closing procedures
- Help track inventory usage during shift and report discrepancies
- Serve as a resource for team members and encourage teamwork
- Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and report issues
- Maintain a positive and productive work environment
- Communicate with managers regarding shift outcomes and staffing needs

Requirements:
- Prior experience in a fast-paced food service environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position in a fast-paced environment, with or without reasonable accommodation, including standing and walking for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
- Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds as required by the role, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to perform job-related tasks that may involve bending, reaching, and repetitive use of hands and arms, such as operating registers, cleaning work areas, and completing required shift documentation, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills necessary to effectively support team members and maintain operations during high-pressure situations.
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow workplace procedures in English, as required for safety, training, and operational effectiveness.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business and operational needs.
- Must have reliable access to a working smartphone for job-related communication, scheduling, and required work applications. The company will reimburse reasonable business-related expenses in accordance with California law.
