Course Host Online - Independent Contractor Opportunity

The Shift Network is a socially-conscious company that empowers a global network of more than 2.5 million people to live their full potential through education, media, and trainings featuring leading wisdom keepers and visionaries. Our online courses include materials such as sound healing, mediumship, shamanism, and more recently we hosted an AI Summit. 

This is a contract position. You must be an established Independent Contractor to be considered.This Independent Contractor opportunity is 10-15 hours per week during training (up to 2 months) and for up to 20 hours per week, after trained, and dependent upon courses offered. You must be available to work hours matched to Pacific times. The general availability is 8am-8pm Monday-Thursday, and is determined by a mix and match of courses, and times offered, as agreed upon. Handling mid-day early-afternoon and late afternoon/early evening courses is a strong preference.

About This Position:

The Course Host provides support and oversight for highly engaging and interactive delivery of online courses and certifications offered by The Shift Network in collaboration with faculty partners. Knowledge of transformational content, including leading teachers, schools of thought, and market trends is highly desirable. The work requires a fine balance of live presentation, communication and highly technical skills. It is expected that you will represent Shift Network in a professional, warm, engaging and trustworthy way while interfacing with the students, faculty, and colleagues. It requires exceptional Customer Support skills with a strong ability to "read" a room.

This individual must be in harmony with The Shift Network’s vision of accelerating the shift to a peaceful, sustainable, healthy, and prosperous world, and have a commitment to the work of personal and collective transformation.

Responsibilities may include:

• Independently host and drive 1-5 live and pre-recorded video and audio online programs per week interfacing with faculty and customers during calls
  
• Operation of Zoom during live and pre-recorded online programs, including troubleshooting of both hardware and software, including external cameras, microphones, etc.
  
• Weekly meetings, as agreed upon
• Collaborates with Course Manager to:
  • Host and operate programs
  • Track and record editing notes of each recording for the media team and provide course feedback
    

Qualifications and Characteristics Desired:

• 2-3 years administrative experience and excellent customer support skills
• Experience in hosting programs, in person or online, with comfort and confidence in public speaking,  often on camera is required
  
• Competence and confidence with technology platforms and internet, including:
  • Zoom
  • Google Docs
  • Facebook
  • Slack 
  • PowerPoint
  • Media players 
• Ability to learn proprietary software and also platforms including Asana, Confluence and Airtable
  
• Excellent organizational, time, strategic management, writing and communication skills 
• Must have established, fully-functional office with reliable office equipment including high-speed internet connection, ethernet, high computer speed, and quiet environment to host public programs 
• 1-2 years remote office experience, strongly preferred
