What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIAL HANDLING SUPERVISOR position at K & N ENGINEERING INC?
This is a Second Shift Position with varying hours: Could be Monday through Friday 3PM-1:30AM or Monday-Thursday 3PM-11:30PM or a combination of both after conversations with the hiring manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accomplishes material handling staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing quality program, safety, operational, personnel policies and procedures.
- Ensures equipment being utilized is being properly maintain; handhelds and forklifts.
- Ensure facility maintenance through housekeeping, keeping product and facility secure and maintaining the assets of the facility.
- Controls inventory/PO quality by conducting physical counts; reconciling with BMS or communicating with purchasing.
- Aid other areas whenever needed, internal and external.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, training, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Seek ways to increase and maintain efficiency, throughput, and quality in the department.
- Interface with support departments to ensure schedules and expectations are met.
Qualifications:
Experience, Skills & Education:
- Leadership and supervisory experience and understanding of management principles.
- Understanding of material handling processes and procedures.
- Understanding of general work practices in warehousing and distribution.
- Understanding of basic efficiency measures, with experience in a Distribution environment preferred.
- Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of K&N Business Management System (BMS).

- Must be able to adjust schedule and hours as-needed to manage department.

- Ability to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers and in a 1-on-1 or team situations.
- Must be willing to seek ongoing training and improvement and support same by staff.
- Must possess a strong attendance record.
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
