Construction Litigation Partner (Design Professional Clients)
Location: U.S.- Remote/ Portland, OR (Pacific Northwest preferred)
The Opportunity
Our client is a national law firm built for how law is practiced today. The firm is seeking experienced attorneys to join as Partners in its Litigation group. This is an opportunity to step into partnership with meaningful autonomy, flexibility, and long-term growth potential—without the structural constraints of traditional large-firm models.
Partners at the firm practice at a high level, serve sophisticated clients, and collaborate with peers across the country, while maintaining control over how and where they work.
Why Attorneys Join This Firm
Full Partner status upon joining
Remote-first infrastructure with the ability to work from anywhere in the U.S.
Modern, technology-enabled practice designed to reduce administrative friction
Collaborative business development culture that supports cross-selling and growth
Flexibility and work-life balance not commonly found in traditional firms
Transparent and straightforward firm economics, aligned with attorney and client interests
This opportunity is particularly attractive to attorneys who want to grow their practices, deepen client relationships, and practice law at a high level without sacrificing independence or lifestyle.
Who This Is For
The firm welcomes attorneys from AmLaw firms, respected regional firms, boutiques, in-house roles, and government positions who are ready for partnership and value autonomy.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have The Following Qualifications
Construction law experience representing design professionals (architects, engineers, surveyors, etc.) against claims of professional negligence
Litigation generally involves contract claims over design changes alleged to have caused additional cost and/or delay in schedule, with some construction defect and bodily injury/wrongful death
Mix of pre-trial workup (substantive/contentious motion practice/discovery, working closely with expert witnesses) and trial experience (federal, state, or tribal court, and/or arbitration)
Protean mind
Experience working with insurance carriers and coverage experience is a plus
Prior experience at an AmLaw 200, Law360 400, respected regional or sophisticated boutique firm (5 years out or more)
A minimum portable book of $350K is preferred, but not required
Location Flexibility
While the firm operates on a national platform, attorneys must be able to appear in court or before agencies in their licensed jurisdictions when required.
Compensation And Benefits
Compensation Structure
Partners are compensated under a performance-based Eat What You Kill model tied to fees actually collected by the firm.
30% of collected fees on matters the Partner originates; plus
50% of collected fees attributable to the Partner’s personal time worked.
Where a Partner both originates and performs work on a matter, both components apply. Compensation varies based on origination volume, hours worked, billing rates, realization, and collections. There is no cap on earning potential.
Good-faith estimated annual compensation range: $150,000 to $2,500,000 , depending on individual performance and practice economics.
Benefits
Partners may elect from tiered benefit options made available by the firm. Available offerings vary by tier and location and may include access to group insurance programs, retirement savings options, professional liability coverage, and firm-provided operational and administrative support.
Details of available tiers, eligibility, and any required contributions are provided during the partnership process and are governed by the firm’s partnership agreement.-
