About the Role
Final Assembly Production Engineering Department is seeking a skilled and motivated Assembly Seibi Technician to support equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing operations.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring production equipment meets Toyota’s standards for safety, quality, productivity, and reliability. The Assembly Seibi Technician will support equipment development, vendor buyoffs, commissioning activities, troubleshooting, and training for plant maintenance and production teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong PLC troubleshooting and industrial controls experience, along with the ability to support equipment installation and startup in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review equipment specifications, mechanical drawings, and electrical designs to identify opportunities for improvement.
Support vendor buyoffs to validate equipment performance, safety, and quality standards prior to shipment.
Install, commission, troubleshoot, and adjust manufacturing equipment during startup and production trials.
Verify equipment safety, quality, and productivity during installation and launch activities.
Implement modifications and countermeasures to improve equipment performance.
Support vehicle trial activities and perform equipment tuning and adjustments.
Confirm quality performance using secondary validation methods such as torque checks, vacuum profiles, and related testing.
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems.
Work with Toyopuc, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or equivalent industrial control systems.
Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
Oversee vendor installation activities and assist with Kanban or production flow coordination.
Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to plant maintenance and production personnel.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment uptime, safety, and production efficiency.
Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, suppliers, and production teams.
Travel to manufacturing plants, suppliers, and support locations as required.
Required Qualifications
2 years of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
Strong knowledge of industrial PLC systems such as Toyopuc, Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron, or Mitsubishi.
2 years of experience with industrial controls, electrical systems, and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
Associate degree, technical degree, trade school certification, or equivalent work experience in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, or related field.
Ability to travel up to 50%, including domestic and international travel.
Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as required.
Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in team environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Industrial maintenance experience within automotive manufacturing.
Experience supporting assembly, conveyor, or manufacturing production equipment.
Robot programming or robot teaching experience.
Experience with AGV/AMR systems.
Knowledge of safety scanners and industrial safety systems.
Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, ProfiNet, FLNet, or related networking.
Experience supporting equipment startup, launch, or commissioning.
Toyota or automotive OEM manufacturing experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs occasionally.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing.
Ability to work at heights and on ladders.
Manual dexterity to operate hand tools and industrial equipment.
Ability to work in manufacturing environments including hot, cold, confined, or noisy areas.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks and extended shifts.

100% onsite manufacturing environment.
Frequent interaction with engineering, production, maintenance, and suppliers.
Fast-paced industrial setting requiring flexibility and responsiveness.
Travel may include supplier locations, manufacturing facilities, and international project support.
