Join our team as a Tow Truck Driver and become a vital part of roadside assistance and vehicle recovery operations. This role is Monday - Friday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with opportunity to be on call in the evenings & weekends as well. Looking for someone with flexibility on evenings/weekends.
In this energetic role, you will operate specialized tow trucks to assist stranded motorists, recover vehicles from accident scenes, and ensure safe transportation of vehicles across various locations. Your expertise will help keep roads safe and traffic flowing smoothly, all while delivering exceptional customer service with professionalism and enthusiasm. Duties
- Safely operate tow trucks, including flatbed and vehicle recovery tow trucks, to transport vehicles efficiently and securely.
- Perform vehicle towing, cargo securement protocols, and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks following industry standards.
- Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting, minor mechanical repairs, and automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle condition before towing.
- Assist with vehicle recovery towing from accident scenes or difficult locations using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and cargo securement protocols.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns professionally.
- Maintain detailed logs of all towing activities, shift reports, incident documentation, and equipment inspections to ensure accountability and safety compliance.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating tow trucks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with flatbed tow trucks, vehicle mechanics for truck drivers, and cargo securement protocols.
- Ability to handle conflict management situations calmly while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Skilled in driving manual transmission vehicles and operating forklifts or similar equipment as needed.
- Knowledge of safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks and adherence to safety standards during vehicle recovery towing operations.
- Excellent customer service skills combined with clear communication abilities to assist clients effectively.
