Duties
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and other specialized vehicles, to recover, load, and transport vehicles safely and efficiently
- Perform basic mechanical troubleshooting and minor repairs on vehicles to facilitate towing or recovery when necessary
- Secure vehicles onto tow trucks following cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after towing to ensure safety standards are met
- Assist customers with vehicle loading & unloading, providing clear communication and excellent customer service
- Follow all safety procedures related to vehicle recovery towing, cargo securement, and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including details of the vehicle, location, and services performed
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving or car towing with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating heavy-duty tow trucks
- Mechanical knowledge of automotive diagnostics, minor mechanical repairs, and basic vehicle troubleshooting
- Familiarity with flatbed tow trucks and vehicle recovery towing techniques
- Strong understanding of cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading procedures
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmissions is preferred
- Ability to manage conflict professionally when dealing with distressed customers or challenging situations
- Prior experience in automotive repair or mechanic work is a plus but not mandatory
