We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Staff Accountant to oversee accounting functions and manage customer and vendor contracts. This is a key role that bridges finance, operations, and compliance. The Senior Staff Accountant will be based in our satellite office in Boca Raton and will report to the Vice President of Finance & Operations.
Position Overview
The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing contract compliance, supporting cost accounting related to production, and ensuring the company’s financial integrity. This role requires strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership teams. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized, incredibly detail-oriented, possess superior reconciliation skills, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced and multi-faceted environment. This individual will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Management
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and the month-end close process
- Manage three-way match accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
- Manage purchase order requisitions and deliverables, assuring accuracy and compliance
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support inventory and cost accounting, including tracking production costs, labor, and overhead allocations
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax preparers, and financial institutions
Contract & Compliance Management
- Review, track, and manage customer and vendor contracts to ensure compliance with financial terms, pricing, and deliverables.
- Monitor contract renewals, pricing adjustments, and performance obligations.
- Work closely with operations and sales to ensure financial and contractual obligations are aligned.
- Maintain organized contract documentation.
- Provide reports and insights to management regarding contract performance and financial impact.
Process Improvement & Systems
- Implement and maintain accounting best practices and internal controls
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and automate financial reporting
- Support ERP or accounting system improvements and integrations
- Assist in developing and implementing standard operating procedures for all processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required
- Advanced Excel skills are required
- 4-5 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual accounting, and cost accounting principles
- Coffee, food manufacturing, or CPG industry experience is preferred
- Experience managing customer or vendor contracts is a plus
- Proficient in modular accounting software preferred (NetSuite experience a plus)
- Bilingual in English & Spanish a plus
- CPA or progress toward CPA a plus
