Full-time Estimator needed in Peabody, MA, salary range $80K-$85K, full benefits. Metal fabrication experience preferred.
This role is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, reviewing project specifications, and supporting the sales and operations teams in securing profitable work. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple orders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
Prepare accurate material, labor, and production cost estimates
Solicit and evaluate quotes from vendors and subcontractors
Collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams to align scope and pricing
Identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options
Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and historical cost data
Follow up on submitted bids and track outcomes
Assist in developing standardized estimating processes and tools
Qualifications
2–5 years of estimating experience (metal fabrication, construction, or related industry preferred)
Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and/or job shop methods
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Proficiency in Excel and estimating software (or willingness to learn)
Strong analytical and math skills
Excellent attention to detail and time management
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with sheet metal and or custom fabrication
Familiarity with ERP or project management systems
Knowledge of CAD tools
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
