About the Role:
JVM Realty is looking for a Corporate Accountant to own the accounting for our corporate entities. You'll manage journal entries and the general ledger, run the monthly and annual close, administer our corporate credit card and expense program, and produce the recurring financial reporting package that keeps leadership informed. This is a hands-on role for someone who's comfortable working daily in an ERP system and takes pride in keeping the books audit-ready.
What You'll Do
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries for corporate entities, keeping the chart of accounts and general ledger audit-ready
- Own the month-end and year-end close on our published calendar — accruals, prepaid and fixed asset activity, intercompany allocations, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Partner with department heads to understand and report on corporate operations, including variance analysis
- Calculate, post, and report monthly management fee revenue
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations (bank, prepaid, accrual, fixed asset, intercompany) and clear reconciling items on schedule
- Administer the corporate credit card program, including compliance and cost allocation across the portfolio
- Review and code corporate vendor invoices for approval
- Support development of our PowerBI reporting suite
- Prepare the recurring corporate financial reporting package and help explain budget variances
- Support the annual budget process, the annual audit, and federal/state/local corporate tax filings
- Identify and implement process improvements, with an eye toward automation and reducing manual work
- Provide functional guidance to staff accountants on shared deliverables
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2 years of corporate accounting experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical skills — able to interpret contracts, vendor agreements, and regulatory material, and to calculate figures for budgets and statistical analysis
- Comfortable managing a recurring deadline calendar independently and making sound decisions under uncertainty
- Self-motivated team player who can work with minimal supervision
- Strong communication both written and verbal
Nice-to-haves:
- Master's degree and/or CPA
- Property management industry experience
- Experience with Entrata or other Property Management Softwares
- Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI)
