What are the responsibilities and job description for the Corporate Staff Accountant position at Federal Signal?
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitors and maintains cash accounts, including monthly bank reconciliations and treasury assistance.
- Prepares analyses, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly invoices related to intercompany accounts.
- Prepare and upload recurring and miscellaneous monthly journal entries.
- Prepares upload of Corporate actual financials and forecasts, including supplemental data, into Consolidation system.
- Monitor and review monthly reconciliation and journal entry binders for completeness and accuracy.
- Assist internal and external auditors with requests and questions specific to the Staff Accountant’s accounts.
- Support the preparation of various SEC filings, including Form 10-Q/10-K.
- Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
- CPA, or CPA candidate, highly preferred.
- Prior accounting experience via internship, public accounting, or corporate accounting role preferred.
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge required.
- Introductory knowledge of FASB and SEC rules and regulations.
- Introductory knowledge of ERP and Consolidation software.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, and ability to work collaboratively as well as independently.
- Ability to demonstrate strong business acumen, analytic, integrative, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to adapt to and operate within a fast-paced environment.
Target Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000
