Just Kids Pediatrics/ Just Kids Therapy ensures each child receives timely access to the care and therapy services they need. We are looking for a Referral Specialist who coordinates referrals between providers, manages insurance prior authorizations, and serves as a key contact for families and referring offices. This unique candidate is a self motivator ready to help our Sheros navigate the wedge from insurance and our patients to get the best care possible. Spanish speaking is a PLUS, being a good human is a MUST!!
Minimum 2 year of medical office experience is required.
Referral Coordinator Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
REFERRAL COORDINATOR POSITION INFORMATION: Coordinates referrals and completes insurance authorizations for patients in an outpatient Pediatric Primary Care office setting. Provides clerical assistance toward the smooth operation of referrals, registration, and scheduling. Provides exceptional customer service, both in-person and over the phone.
Referral Coordinator Responsibility:
- Process and track all incoming and outgoing referrals for pediatric and therapy services.
- Communicate with referring offices, specialists, and families regarding referral status and required documentation.
- Verify patient information and ensure complete and accurate referral details in the EHR system.
- Maintain updated referral logs and proactively follow up on outstanding items.
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits for medical and therapy services.
- Obtain pre-authorizations and pre-certifications required by payers (SoonerCare, commercial insurance, etc.).
- Document authorization details accurately
- Monitor expiration dates and initiate renewals before services lapse
- Assist in problem-solving coverage issues or delays to prevent gaps in care.
Qualifications:
Referral Coordinator Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years of experience in a healthcare or therapy office setting.
- Strong understanding of referral management, insurance verification, and authorization processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in EHR and insurance portal systems
Preferred:
- Previous experience in pediatrics, therapy services, or multi-clinic settings.
- Familiarity with SoonerCare, BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, and other major insurance portals.
- Knowledge of CPT and diagnosis codes for pediatric Therapy (OT,PT, ST).
Salary : $16 - $19
