Shipping & Receiving Clerk
Leading 90-year-old, New York Metal Fabrication Company is seeking an experienced Shipping Clerk for a busy department.
Job Responsibilities: Responsible for preparing and shipping orders via common carrier, UPS and others as well as receiving and documenting incoming orders and related activities
Job Duties:
- Daily shipping of orders via common carriers, UPS and others
- Read customer work and shipping orders to verify correct items and quantities to be shipped
- Use proper packaging materials and packing procedures to prevent product damage
- General shipping activities
- Create shipping labels and packing lists with accurate shipping information
- Check in/receive materials, including verifying quantities and checking for defects
- Match and review purchase orders to packing lists to make sure all required items are included
- Move received items to their respective departments or inventory locations
- Help in loading and unloading of trucks
- Maintain shipping department in good order
- Related activities as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Minimun 5 years shipping and receiving experience
- Experience with UPS Worldship software
- Experience with Bills of Lading, packing lists, packing/packaging and labeling
- Safely operate fork lift and pallet jack
- Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Demonstrated ability to read and follow verbal/written instructions
- US citizen or permanent resident
- Able to speak, read and write English
