Duties
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate curricula tailored to toddlers’ cognitive, social, and emotional needs, incorporating principles of Montessori, early childhood education, and special education when applicable.
- Lead daily classroom activities with enthusiasm, ensuring a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment that encourages curiosity and independence.
- Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to promote effective teamwork and consistent instructional practices.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other learning technology tools to track student progress, document developmental milestones, and communicate with families effectively.
- Conduct regular assessments of student performance data to evaluate progress, identify areas for improvement, and adapt instructional strategies accordingly using quantitative analysis techniques.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques while addressing conflicts promptly and professionally.
- Ensure compliance with all educational regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards related to early childhood education and toddler care.
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of curriculum development for early childhood learners, including literacy education, math fundamentals, physical education, and library services.
- Strong classroom management skills with experience in conflict resolution and behavior management strategies tailored for toddlers.
- Proficiency in using LMS platforms and learning technology tools for lesson planning, student data analysis, and instructional design.
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs within multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) frameworks.
- Ability to analyze student performance data quantitatively to inform instruction and measure developmental progress accurately.
- Familiarity with educational compliance standards, regulations governing preschool environments, and best practices in childcare settings.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, team members, and external specialists such as speech therapists or occupational therapists.
- Demonstrated experience teaching physical education or integrating movement into daily routines to promote holistic development in toddlers.
